 It's been a while since I have been here, but for good reasons. We have been working on some projects and here is one of them for you to enjoy and pass it along for others to see.

Angels in Black And White

Following our prior posts, we continue with the photography and poetry book-publishing concept.  In this post the focus will be directed towards black and white photography.

This is a concept in photography that has transcended through the ages since photography was invented. Black and white photography is an unbelievable technique which has established itself in the most influential method of expression in our history and society. This is an amazing fact, since we all see the world in colors and everything today it has to be high definition.

The black and white photography digs deeper in the mind and soul of the audience, especially when the human eye can only see colors in a range of 3 percent and 97 percent in black and white.

Having this information in hand can help you and define your audience in an unimaginable way. Knowing some statistics in the visual limitation history can improve your expansion towards a more diverse audience.

For example, we have millions of our brothers and sisters in the world that suffer from a variety list of visual disabilities or different variations of color blindness such as:

 · Red-green deficiencies (most common category)

                        I. Protanopia and protanomaly are red deficiencies.

               II. Deuteranopia and deuteranomaly are green deficiencies.

  
· Tritanopia is a less common deficiency and it is based on the color blue deficiency.

· Rod monochromacy or achromacy it is the most extreme case of color blindness in which no color is visible at all.

Having the human eye capabilities of differencing in the amount of light and darkness we can perceive, black and white will be your key point of visual communication to a bigger mass. Just remember shoot in colors, but know your:

• Compositions
• Color ranges
• Especially your gamma ranges 

Make them part of your daily work till it becomes second nature.

Using this information not just for an advantage to expand your market, but to also understand and share our visions with others can set your work apart from others.

It is amazing how society being so “rational” and “acceptable” of everyone today, has become a mockery or a slap on the face filled with hypocrisy.

As many of us decide to decorate or alter our bodies with skin art, piercings and other more drastic alterations, “Our” society looks down and judges those who decided to take part of the vast population of skin art and body modification aficionados and lovers.

 The art of tattooing and body alteration has been one of the most important social links throughout human evolution. 

From our ancient cultures decorating their bodies with ink, branding, and other body alterations to demonstrating their social status, to our current cultures around the world the skin arts are part of us. 

If these facts are captured in every corner of the world throughout books, images, temples, religions, and so many other mediums, why do societies and cultures push and judge us?

 Having a so-called professional, clean and presentable image is the standard and the ones with body modifications and decorations are looked at as lower, mediocre, uncivilized and “dangerous” citizens. 

We see that those with the “standard or acceptable” look in our society are not as different as us, possibly are not as good as they seem to look.

Having our bodies decorated, has always been a self-expression for love, passion, status and achievements in our human evolution; this does not determine a destructive and criminal mental state of mind.

Many can relate to a judgment, mockery, prejudice or even prosecution just because of their love for the arts.

These are the reasons why “Tainted Angels” is shouting out loud… 

“Unite against ignorance and prejudice. Let’s express our love for the skin arts and show the beauty of it with passion, understanding and creativity.”

Let us stop prejudice once and for all and hold creativity as our weapon for expression. Never let words hurt you; express yourself without limits with the TAINTED ANGELS.

NO MORE

During our lives, we are exposed to many events that reveal the truth about people. We see cases of racism, gender discrimination, prejudice, religion persecution, and many other reasons. These are the things people use to attack or diminish others. Even in our working place, where other employees and even management create these situations against others.

Why do we have to stand for this?

Ignorance and stupidity of others hurt those that  do well, just because they don’t look, talk or share beliefs. Many go through a hard time because of this, not just here but all around the world.

In the UK, a case about religious discrimination takes place when the British Airways airline fired four employees for wearing their crucifixes during work time, while others wear their religious symbols like Sikh turbans, bracelets, Muslim hijab and others... (www.euronews.com).   

In New York, we witness a racial discrimination case in the federal court between Chisholm and the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in November 2011 (http://nydailyrecord.com).

In this case, we have a disability discrimination case, Roy M. Victor versus the State of New Jersey in October 2009. Roy M. Victor, an employee of the New Jersey State Trooper was not properly accommodated for his disability at work.

How can we secure our jobs, companies, families, and even ourselves if we do not take a second to see, hear, and understand others?

These issues can create such a dark cloud over your business, and yourself. Preventing such, can bring many people together in harmony.

These are only a few reasons why the Tainted Angels are here, one person can change the world. So imagine, what all of us can do together with our love, understanding, and passion for the arts, music and more?

Spread the wings of knowledge and educate others with reason and facts, but specially understanding and love.

Do not let others stop your dreams just because of your race, religion, ethnicity, beliefs, or looks. 

We can never judge a book by its cover, but we can be judge by our doings.

Tainted Angels....The Alternative Modeling Genre

In today’s society, indifference and rejection become fuel to most of us. The image of beauty in our so-called “mainstream” or public eye, to be more direct, causes many to undermine skin art (in addition to body alterations). This art has surfaced from the underground and started to make its voice heard. Since 2001 few agencies have had the courage to fight this discrimination. What we are about to establish here in the Central Florida Area is a new type of agency and movement in the fashion and music world.

 In our previous blog we talked about models with skin art or tattoos and body modification. This group will be a forefront of a tattoo movement -- it will be known as the “Tainted Angels.” The group will empower itself, venting forth anger and frustration, while artistically presenting a variety of shows to the world. They will show that the same capabilities and skills of the mainstream performers and or models without prejudice.

Tainted Angels will be the key point for many to express their love for the arts. Music and modeling are the foundation for the Tainted Angels. The vast array of music genres and diverse visual expressions of the members will be presented to clubs, television stations and many other venues for the single or group exposure of their work.

This type of movement has not been integrated to the mainstream fully. A small portion of it has been shown in television, tattoo conventions, and music festivals nationwide. Many agencies specializing in models with tattoos and body modifications are not established in the United States. Agencies like NY Body Art, Wicked Talent, Tattoo Models Wanted, HV Agency, and others are not exposed as they should be, due to their models that are considered tainted with skin art and body modifications.

In countries like England, Lithuania, Yugoslavia and other countries do not reject the body decoration or alteration as it is in our society here in the United States. Agencies like the Spirit Models and New Blood Models are just some of the main agencies that fully support models with tattoos and body alterations abroad. 

These agencies offer assistance to many venues here in the United States, because of the lack of modeling agencies with tattooed models.

"Marked for Life Expo"

Once again, Tainted Angels is back with information on skin art and body alteration sub-culture with an upcoming tattoo convention in Orlando. The “Marked for Life Expo” a Female Tattoo Artist Exposition that has become a tradition in the Orlando area for the tattoo collector, artist and enthusiast. The “Marked for Life Expo” has run for 18 years bringing the amazing talent of female artist around the nation to the eyes of the artistic sub-culture. This year the expo will take place on January 17^th thru January 20^th at the Holiday Inn Orlando 12125 High Tech Avenue in Orlando Florida.

 

The “Marked for Life Expo” is the effort and creation of Deanna Lippens owner of Deanna Skin Arts Tattoo Shop in Christmas FL. Deanna Skin Arts is the only tattoo shop in the city of Christmas. Deanna celebrates 33 years in the tattoo industry as she started in 1980 by her passion for the skin art. TaintedAngels will be present on this 18^th edition of “Marked for Life” exposition. I will be cruising, talking, filming and immortalizing the art and people from this amazing exposition of talent and passion for the skin arts and present it to you. 

We will begin a tradition and journey of the exposure of the sub-culture as we present the ones that love the skin arts as equals. It does not matter what religion, believes, race, culture or background we are, one thing unites us without prejudice or rejection… “ART”.

The Tainted Angels believes in no rejection or prejudice for those who live and love the art and free expression. We will stand strong against ignorance and misconception for the meaning and looks of the one that loves the art. We will move forward to a bigger and better place where our looks and choices for the decoration of our bodies will not be seen as a lower level of humanity and personality.

Only the open mind and heart can stop the hate and prejudice of the unknown and misunderstood.

Join us in this journey for the education and acceptance of all without limits, without prejudice, only acceptance that we are all brothers and sisters no matter what we believe in or where cultured as we were raised in a world of blindness and hatred.
